Or do you know of a town that you feel has helped grow primary industries and driven regional development? If so, it’s time to nominate a town for the 2024 Agricultural Town of the Year Award.
The Agricultural Town of the Year Award highlights the vital role that agriculture plays in the regional landscape – being the backbone of most regional communities. The Award recognises South Australian towns that are excelling in agricultural practices and the flow on effect they have on regional communities.
How can you get involved?
Nominate a town you feel should be recognised as the Agricultural Town of the Year. The winning town will be announced at a special awards night on Thursday 24 October at Beresford Estate in McLaren Flat. Town representatives will be invited to attend and accept the Award from the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development.

Nominating is a simple process that only takes a few moments. A nomination can be made by anyone.

Why nominate?
The Agricultural Town of the Year Award provides regional communities the opportunity to reflect on their contributions to South Australia’s primary industries and regional development, showcasing the flow on effect that they have on regional communities, while shining a spotlight on the town.
In addition to being recognised as the ‘2024 South Australian Agricultural Town of the Year’, the winning town will receive:
- Certificate and trophy presented by the Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development at the Awards event.
- Sign for the town entrance recognising their achievement.
- Community event and sign unveiling to celebrate the ‘Agricultural Town of the Year’.
- Double page feature in the 2025 February edition of SALIFE magazine.
- Media exposure around the Award.
- Stories published to showcase the achievements of individuals and businesses that have made a significant contribution to the town.
- Networking opportunities with other regional communities.
