RDAEP, in partnership with Whyalla City Council, Whyalla Business and Tourism (WBAT), and Local Jobs Program delivered Support Sessions in Whyalla.

On Wednesday 4th September, RDAEP, Whyalla City Council, Whyalla Business and Tourism (WBAT), And Workforce Australia’s Local Jobs Program staff collaborated to deliver 3 information sessions for individuals and business owners impacted by recent redundancies in Whyalla.

Follow-up sessions are being organised and will be delivered in October for both business owners and individuals. Further details will be posted on RDAEP’s website, Facebook and Linkedin.

Many thanks to the numerous organisations who provided information on the day including SAs Small Business Commissioner, SA Skills Commissioner, local financial counselling service providers (Centacare and Anglicare), Office for Small and Family Business, Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), TAFE SA, Small Business Helpline, Elders Insurance, and WBAT.

Small and Family Business Support

South Australian small business owners can access mental health and wellbeing support for themselves and their employees at low or no cost.

Aiming to increase resilience and capability to cope with mental health challenges, these programs offer a range of support activities including masterclasses, education and training sessions, workshops, webinars, e-learning, and online tools and resources.

Mindarma – Small business owners and their employees can register for Mindarma’s free program that includes a calendar of webinar events, access to the online learning platform and resources. The webinars include psychologist-led skills sessions and other restorative practices.

Be Well Co – An entity of the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), Be Well Co supports people to build their mental health and wellbeing through education, mental health literacy, and practical activities. Be Well Co offers free masterclasses, workshops and online tools for business owners and their employees.
